Crash involving Amazon and garbage trucks snarls morning commute
ENFIELD, Conn. — The morning rush came to a slow crawl in Enfield on Monday after a crash closed part of Interstate 91 north for several hours.State police said a garbage truck rear-ended an Amazon tractor-trailer around 3:15 a.m., scattering packages and debris all over the road. There was also a reported fuel spill.
No injuries were reported and the driver of the garbage truck received an infraction for following too closely to the tractor-trailer, Sgt. Christine Jeltema said. Only the drivers of both trucks were involved in the crash.
The highway between exits 46 and 47-E was shut down for several hours while crews investigated and cleaned up, but has since reopened.
