N.J. woman killed when car, dump truck collide

A New Jersey woman died Wednesday when a car and dump truck collided at a Salem County intersection, police said.

The crash occurred around 5:30 a.m. at the intersection of Garden and Centerton roads in Pittsgrove Township, according to a New Jersey State Police spokesman.

A 24-year-old Camden resident was driving a car northbound on Centerton Road and the dump truck was heading west on Garden Road, police said.

A passenger in the car, Kayla Dowling, 26, of Blackwood, was killed, according to police, while the car’s driver suffered serious injuries.

The crash remains under investigation and additional details were not disclosed.

Traffic on Centerton Road has the right of way, while drivers on Garden Road encounter stop signs at the intersection.
